Virtual Visits

Simple, convenient care from home.

If you’ve been seen at GMA within the last three years, you can schedule a virtual visit for many non-urgent health concerns—such as a cough, possible bladder infection, or certain medication refills (blood pressure, cholesterol, depression, etc.). Virtual visits are quick, convenient, and easy to join.

If you need help after hours, please call our on-call provider at 970-945-8503. Because we have your medical record, we can often address your concern right away—and usually at a lower cost than Urgent Care or the ER.

For any life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately.

How your virtual visit works

We’ve designed virtual visits to be simple and stress-free.

1. Confirm Your Appointment

You’ll receive a text message asking you to:

  • Confirm your appointment
  • Verify your information
    (Just like an in-office visit)

2. A Medical Assistant Will Call You

About 10–15 minutes before your appointment, a GMA Medical Assistant (MA) will:

  • Check you in
  • Review your reason for the visit
  • Make sure your device is ready
  • Answer any questions

This brief call helps your visit go smoothly.

3. Click the link to join

After talking with the MA, you’ll receive a secure text message link.

  • Tap the link
  • Your browser will open automatically
  • If asked, select “Yes” to allow access to your camera and microphone
  • You’ll enter a virtual waiting room
  • Your provider will join you shortly

That’s it – you’re in!

Tips for a smooth virtual visit

These small steps make a big difference:

  • Choose a quiet, well-lit space.
  • Position your camera so your head and shoulders are visible.
  • Use a phone stand or prop so your hands are free.
  • Consider wearing earbuds for clearer sound.
  • Have a flashlight nearby in case the provider needs a closer look (throat, skin, etc.).
  • Remember to turn on your camera and microphone when logging in.

Before Your Visit: Please Gather These Vitals

If you can, have this information ready when the MA calls. Don’t worry—just do the best you can.

  • Recent weight
  • Height (if available)
  • Blood pressure: Especially important if you’re over 60 or on blood pressure medication
  • Pulse rate: Count for 6 seconds and multiply by 10
  • Temperature
  • Oxygen level (if you have asthma, COPD, pneumonia, or other lung conditions)
  • Current medication list

Affordable, easy-to-use home devices are available at pharmacies and online.

We’re here to help

If any part of this process feels confusing or difficult, don’t worry. The MA who calls before your appointment can walk you through each step and answer any questions. Our goal is to make your virtual visit as easy and comfortable as possible.
